Given the proper care, the same wear and tear that would wear out and tear up another product will instead develop - in both leather and waxed canvas - the character and patina that make them even more valuable and desirable over time
The 60 liter capacity would be ideal for trips up to 5 days for most backpackers, though careful packing could definitely stretch that time
But as someone with space to store the bag without folding it up into a compact pocket, (and zero inclination to spend the time required to carefully pack it up) this isnt a big deal for me
